She's ready for summer!

Well, the recipient of this wedding gift will be ready for summer, that is.  Made by Sarah:

A quilted, laminated picnic blanket, with matching placemats that have pockets for utensil and a cloth napkin.    Fabric for the blanket is Strawberry Fields from Moda (we have a few yards left only!), and Heather Bailey's Freshcut laminated cotton (20% off this month!)  Sarah used Target placemats to add the ribbon and pockets.  Ready for summertime!

And don't forget, if you're not ready to tackle a blanket all by yourself, join Bralia and take a class making one!  Sunday, May 20 & 27, 2-5, or Saturday, May 19 & 26, 3-6.

Slipcovers - DONE!

The slipcover class comes to a close....with Tina and Amy finishing their projects - the chair just needs a skirt, and the blue cushions are done - Betsy did an amazing job working with these gals....and we have another class planned, starting with a "demo" to introduce you to making a slipcover - are you in??

Holy Cow, what a weekend!

A weekend sewing/quilting retreat took us to Las Vegas, New Mexico, where we experienced:

*3 drunk cowboys who got into a middle-of-the-night brawl

*one date proposal

*one marriage proposal

*the completion of 3 quilt tops, one t-shirt, one pair of pj bottoms, and one pair of pants

*mini massages, demos, delicious food, wonderful hospitality HERE

*and plans for another one.....in the fall, maybe?  Will you PLEASE join in??

(yes, she's using a camping headlight to seam rip)

This is a quick shot of Threadbare, the fabric store just steps away from the hotel.

If you want to know more about the drunk cowboys, or the date proposal, or the marriage proposal, you'll have to come to the store and ask me, and I'll fill you in....

Slipcovers.....before and during

The slipcover class has begun.....and off we go!  I gave my 12 yr. old the camera and said "take some pictures"....here's what resulted:

and my favorite - the "artistic" shot:

We then began - measuring, removing old parts, patching, cutting our fabric:

Stay tuned... (and you haven't missed out if you didn't get in on this class....we'll be offering more!)

and.....DONE

It was a whirlwind of an idea she had, a sketch, some math, some seam ripping, sewing, seam ripping, sewing....but it's done!

HAPPY EASTER!

Nothing like some last-minute sewing....

This will be an Easter skirt by tonight:
Mini dots, picked out by my 12 yr. old.....we've got to get busy!  Because, we all need a little PRESSURE in our lives, right?!
